Dubai Municipality launched Smart Palm which is a green self-sustainable device recharge station and info point with complimentary Wi-Fi access. The Smart Palm is also incorporated with security and emergency features, it is equipped with the 360 degree infrared CCTV camera and an emergency button accessible through the touch screen application.
The electronic trees, which are 6 meters long and incorporate 12.8 sq.m of solar-powered cells, will give data about the climate, the ocean conditions, transportation and different enhancements in Dubai through touchscreens and speakers.
“The Wi-Fi connection provides high-speed internet access within a range of 200 meters. Fifty people can be connected at the same time,” explained Alia Harmoudi, Director of the Environment Department of Dubai Municipality.
The gadget offers Wi-Fi association, charging stations, and touchpad screens with which you get informed all the happenings around the globe. The smart palm recharge stations are capable of charging all batteries 2.5 times faster than the regular charging period.
More than 103 Smart Palms will be introduced for the current year on Al Mamzar Beach, Al Mamzar Corniche, Jumeirah 1 Beach, Jumeirah 2 Beach, Jumeirah Beach Road, Umm Suqeim 1 Beach, Umm Suqeim 2 Beach, JBR and Dubai Marina Beach.
