World’s largest vertical farm to be displayed in Expo 2020

Expo 2020 is set out to be one of the biggest events in the UAE with attendees from over 190 countries from all around the globe. This means energetic visitors who are looking forward to a spectacular show.

Apart from all the exciting events taking place, the Expo 2020 is also set to feature the largest vertical farm in the world. The farm anticipates providing products to over 200 food and beverage stores at the event, which will be providing the hungry customers with delicious meals.

Kicking off the celebrations on October 20, 2020, and lasting till April 10, 2021, the event is set to feature 173 days of astonishing events. The vertical farm is 130,000 square feet long which will provide greens for 50 million meals. This has been achieved by partnering with Emirates Flight Catering which is famous for its massive numbers of catered meals.

Emirates Flight Catering will also feature many food and beverage stalls across the Expo’s three ‘Thematic Districts’.

The senior vice president of programming at Expo 2020 Dubai, Gillian Hamburger said, “With 50 million meals expected to be served during Expo 2020, both quality and sustainability are crucial to our aim of creating an exceptional – and delicious – World Expo, while also contributing to a more sustainable future for us all”.
